Honeymoon Adventures!

We're married!! It's been a while since the last time we posted. 3 weeks since our wedding and we're still trying to catch up with everything! Following a beautiful and incredibly fun wedding, Billy and I ventured to the Costa Rica rain forest for 5 nights. This post is specifically about the excursions we went on.

We stayed at the beautiful Nayara Arenal resort outside of La Fotuna. We loved it there and recommend it! The first excursion we went on was the Volcano Hike. This "hike" took us as close to the volcano as you could get. 90% of the hike was on flat land (sand from the volcano) and the other 10% was meandering over tons of rocks to get a good spot for a picture. The views were amazing, and we learned a lot. We saw snakes, birds, and monkeys on our way!

Our second excursion was the canopy tour (aka zip lining) through EcoGlide. This was awesome!! First we got suited up then jumped in the back of a pickup that took us up the mountain to begin (that was a ride of its own! haha). In the middle of the trip, they have a Tarzan swing! You're attached to a rope and they pretty much drop you and let you swing! the drop was the scary part. I have attached a video below.

Our last excursion was the Hanging Bridges tour. This was more a hike then anything! We saw many types of birds, army ants, monkeys, spiders, and poisonous caterpillars, frogs, and snakes! The views were amazing and the tour guide was very helpful. This trip was our last day in the rain forest, and we got stuck in the rain for the first time! Luckily, we had our ponchos and waterproof camera case so we continued on!

Check out our picasa album or facebook for more photos!

Enjoy!

  1. Billy, if you're gonna scream. At least scream like Tarzan!
