Easter Sunday/Our 1 Year Anniversary!

Us :-) (me at 10 weeks)
April 24 was a special day this year; Billy and I shared our 1 year wedding anniversary with Easter Sunday! It ended up being a PERFECT way to celebrate. 1 year ago we spent that weekend with all of our closest friends and family at my family church in Flagler Beach followed by our reception in my parents neighborhood club house in Ormond Beach. This year, we were able to re-live some of our favorite moments from our wedding weekend.

Because it was Easter weekend, both of our families had plans to get together at my parents house. Billy's mom, Stacey, and brother Jesse met us at my parents house on Saturday morning. We decided to go to one of our favorite beach restaurant/bars on Flager Beach, Finn's Beachside Pub. The Thursday night before our wedding, Billy and I gathered our aunts, uncles, and cousins, and hung at at this same pub. It was awesome to be back and sit at the same table we were at year ago.

On Easter Sunday, we attended Mass at the church we were married in one year ago to that day. Father Al was the priest, which made it that much more meaningful. It felt really great to be there on such a special holiday. Father Al will never let us forget was a amazing day it really it, "He has truly risen!" What would have made this day even more special would be if we got to speak with Father Al afterward, but because the church was filled to the brim we didn't attempt to fight the crowd.

The remainder of the day was spent celebrating Christ and his sacrifices he made for us. Those who gave something up for Lent were able to indulge, and quality time was spent with those who mean the most: family. Mom and Dad Mas put on a great Easter egg hunt for our 9 nieces and nephews (Billy and I helped hide and stuff eggs). We had a wonderful time playing with all the kiddies, eating, and visiting.
Grandma and Grandpa Mas with 8 out of 9 of their grandchildren (Oliva was napping).
Me and my big brothers!
If you ask me, this weekend was a perfect way to celebrate. But we're not done! After Billy's finals this week, we plan on taking some time to ourselves and going out to dinner. Oh, and eating that cake top (or 1/4 of a cake top) that we forgot to eat on Sunday. ;-)
